This is exactly the sort of thing I'd prefer to ignore, but as it's evidently gained some popularity:
Those students of mine selling, bartering, exchanging, or otherwise altering their soul by way of the demonic minion are to notify me immediately. Lying about the transaction will be both futile and detrimental to your final mark. |

[Handwritten, as usual]
Anyone intending to join my advanced Curses and Hexes seminar in the upcoming term will need a four-point record in C&H components I and II, or special permission from the dean and myself. Anyone that was not enrolled in I or II may sign up for an aptitude evaluation, and test into the course.

Students in Curses and Hexes II, there will be a test of your command of the binding hex tomorrow.
Epic Arcane Literature III, as a reminder, your essays on Maxwell's Rego Rexi are due at the end of the week.

To those of you facing the prehistoric conundrum, if you remain foodless:
Dinosaurs are not your only option for sustenance, and while I'm not certain of their equivalents in your time, there are a multitude of plants available to you. Roots, particularly of the deep-water variety, once washed, are a reasonably good source of nutrition. Watercress, which ought to be harvested only from fast moving bodies of water, is also a potential snack. Nettles, mashed or boiled, are the best option, if you can get them. If there are coconuts, there are doubtless other sources of fruit--plantains or pawpaw, perhaps. Water-chestnuts may require some excavation, but are worth it. Water-lilies, palms, and Lotus plants are all edible, but of course, safer if roasted beforehand.
Avoid the castor-oil bean plant (starlike leaves; grows as a tree; appears highly edible but is highly toxic), Camas death lily (looks rather like an onion; smell beforehand; if odorless, abandon it); Lantana (shrublike, with multicolored flowers; grows dark red or black berries that are almost always fatal if consumed); Manchineel (grows as a tree; glossy green leaves and spikes of pale flowers; greenish-yellow fruit; causes dermatitis and death if touched or consumed); Oleander (shrub/small tree; poisonous if consumed; gives off toxic fumes if burned); Pangi (tree, grows highly toxic fruit; looks like a pear tree down to its appetizing fruit but has heart-shaped leaves).
Fishing is recommended. The thorns of that era, I presume, are large enough to compete with the no doubt immense aquatic life when you come to the inevitable issue of making hooks. A gill net set across a narrow stream, woven from organic fibers or strips of cloth, ought to at least temporarily corral fish.
I'm not positive of your abilities to start a fire or to procure some sort of container strong enough to withstand the heat, but for god's sake, do try to boil the water, lest you all ingest some early form of giardia or cryptosporidium and fall victim to digestive cysts.
To those students waiting to be processed on bail:
Although your indiscretions have given me the time to compose this hack survival guide, I would appreciate it if these excursions did not become habit.
EDIT: Good lord, I am posting bail for you as we speak; do stop panicking. Considering how many of you were arrested and the lack of technology here, this will take some time. Unless you would prefer I incinerate the east wall of the holding cell for an immediate escape, be patient. |

( Dr. Rhodes. )
Those of you in Curses and Hexes that have not, as mentioned in my previous correspondence, signed up for an individual practical examination time, have been assigned one at random. There will be no exchanges from this point forward, unless arrangements have already been made with me. Final slots have been posted outside my office, and emailed to you separately.
Any attempt to cross out or otherwise alter names on the list is not advised.
In related news, I commend the invitation of Ms. [...] Houston to the Academy, and thank the organizers of the event for the tolerab well-informed lecture. |

That's quite enough. I hope for your sakes you aren't as idiotic and short-sighted re: your exams as you are in your personal conduct. |
